Phillip A. Kohl

Phil Kohl's attention to detail and personal approach to each client's case has helped him meet the needs of so many satisfied clients. Since 1975, Mr. Kohl has assisted numerous clients in state and federal court, and before the Minnesota Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. An aggressive and experienced trial attorney, Kohl has the ability to gain success in cases that many lawyers would find too difficult.

Kohl's many successes include a 2001 verdict in excess of $1 million for the family of a young mother who tragically lost her life in a car accident. In 2002, Mr. Kohl won a jury verdict in excess of $400,000 for a client who suffered injuries to her arm when she was thrown from a horse.

Kohl is a member of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association. He also served on the Minnesota Supreme Court Uniform Rules Committee from its beginning in 1988 until 2004. Kohl has been named a Superlawyer by Minnesota's Journal of Law and Politics.
John T. Hareid

A native of Albert Lea, John Hareid is trusted by many of the area's banks, corporations and families to provide reliable advice and excellent legal service.

Since he began practicing law in 1976, Mr. Hareid has developed the experience and skill to assist individuals and corporations with all their business and real-estate needs.

Mr. Hareid is a member of the Real Property Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association and is certified as a Real Property Specialist.
Don A. Johnson

Don Johnson is the lawyer many talk about when they say they will have something checked out by the "family lawyer." Since 1967, Mr. Johnson has represented multiple generations of families with all their legal needs. Balancing his time between the Albert Lea and Kiester offices, Mr. Johnson's satisfied clients are located throughout southern Minnesota.

Mr. Johnson is certified as a real property specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association's Real Property Section and is a member of the American Bar Association. He is also admitted to practice law in the state of Iowa, making him uniquely qualified to handle transactions that cross state lines.
Mark A. Anderson

Mark Anderson grew up in Freeborn County and is dedicated to helping those in the most dire legal need. Since 1975, Mr. Anderson has helped families in difficult situations like divorces, guardianships and dealing with the death of loved ones. Mr. Anderson lends a calming influence to those clients under the greatest stress, while still representing them as aggressively as the circumstances require.

In addition to family law and probate, Mr. Anderson works in many other legal areas, including wills and estate planning, medical assistance planning, drainage issues, ag law and adoption.

Mr. Anderson is active in the Freeborn County Bar Association and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Kevin H. Siefken

Named a Rising Star by Minnesota's Journal of Law and Politics three years in a row, Kevin Siefken is the newest partner at Christian & Peterson, PA. Since he received his Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in 1995, Mr. Siefken has helped people in tough situations.

Mr. Siefken mainly represents clients in Criminal Defense, Debtor-Creditor Rights/Bankruptcy, Divorce and Civil Litigation. Although no attorney can guarantee any result, Mr. Siefken is dedicated to doing his best to win the results his clients deserve.

Mr. Siefken is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Kara L. Obermeyer

Kara Obermeyer joined Christian & Peterson in 2005. Kara grew up west of Albert Lea. A graduate of Winona State University and William Mitchell College of Law, Kara has returned to her roots. Kara served as law clerk to the Honorable John A. Chesterman, District Court Judge, before joining the firm. Kara's quick-thinking and assertive style serve her well in her case-load, which consists mainly of family law and criminal defense.
